81 year old WWII/Korea Vet to do Outreach to VFW and American Legion

August 1st, 2008 by Steven Vincent-News

Harry Woolen, an 81 year old WWII/Korea Vet, has taken on the task of contacting all the VFW and American Legion Posts along our route of the Great American Walk for Freedom.  He’ll be securing their support and participation in putting on Town Hall Meetings.  Harry says, “I can’t believe what this country is becoming…it’s sure not what I went to fight for”.

If an 81 year old vet cares enough to step up and take on a task, maybe you can too.  There are still many tasks unfilled and very little time.  Please let us know if you can volunteer your help.  And please make a cash contribution now at http://www.WalkforFreedom.org

Boy Scout Troop Leader Enthused for Walk for Freedom

July 31st, 2008 by Steven Vincent-News

The response from the people of Wisconsin has been tremendous.  We have Town Hall Meetings scheduled at High Schools, Public Libraries, American Legion Posts and Churches.

The responsive participation we are receiving is exemplified by the leader of a Boy Scouts troop who, upon learning of the upcoming meeting, offered to distribute flyers to all the parents and scouts at their next gathering.  He also volunteered to place the flyer on public bulletin boards around town and place an ad in the town newspaper.  Americans are ready to hear the message of Freedom!

Pulaski Area Vets Fired Up for Walk for Freedom

July 31st, 2008 by Steven Vincent-News

The Pulaski, Wisconsin Walk for Freedom Town Hall Meeting will be held at 6 PM on August 12th at the American Legion Hall.  There are a number of veteran’s organizations across the area and they are all being informed of our meeting.

I spoke to a vet of the first Iraq War at an Am Vets post and he gave an unsolicited, heated commentary on the loss of 2nd Amendment rights…apparently they just passed an law in Wisconsin which removes your second amendment rights after your 3rd drunk driving offence.  He also launched into a commentary on the loss of 1st Amendment rights under our current Administration.  He’s fired up to get the word out and we’ll be sending him some flyers right away to get him started.

Overall, we are encountering a receptive ear to the Message of Freedom along our route to Minneapolis!

Town Hall Meetings Scheduled in 4 Towns So Far!

July 30th, 2008 by Steven Vincent-News

We are getting an open and receptive response from the people of Wisconsin to the idea of holding Town Hall Meetings to discuss the Constitution and the way forward for America.  So far we have four Town Hall meetings scheduled:

–Pulaski High School
–Hatley Public Library
–Bonduel High School
–Shawano High School

Thanks to Deanna Schuette and Lisa Hansen and Bridgette Panzer for their excellent work in helping to set up these important meetings!

Individuals and organizations such as churches and veterans groups have agreed to invite their members to the meetings and we will soon begin outreach to the local media along the route.  In that regard, we could definitely use a hand doing the research and contact with the local media.  Additional help in scheduling Town Hall meetings is needed as well.  Can you help?

“USA Tomorrow” newspaper will be distributed in advance of our arrival and will include the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, articles about  Constitutional issues, the Rally for the Republic and the Great American Walk for Freedom and the 11:22:08 End the Fed protests.  It will also contain a flyer insert of the itinerary and scheduled Town Hall meetings for the Walk for Freedom with information about the Rally for the Republic on the other side.

RV Update

July 28th, 2008 by News from Michael

An angel has fronted us the money for three RVs. We still need to raise that money, but, due to deposit requirements, we have gone ahead and secured the vehicles. The total cost of the RVs (including gas) is estimated at $20,000. This will keep up to two dozen activists housed, and presentable, for a month. That’s about $30 a day. I think you can all agree a decent rate. Total costs per walker/per day are estimated at $50. Please donate $25 or $50, and sponsor a walker. We will represent! Thank you for your interest and support

Thanks to Buddy Smith for Volunteering the Use of His Pickup!

July 28th, 2008 by admin

Buddy Smith will be driving up from Kentucky to participate in the Walk for Freedom as a driver and logistics volunteer.  He has volunteered the use of his pickup truck to haul food, water, supplies and equipment for the Walk to keep the Freedom train a-rollin’!  Thanks Buddy!

We need more folks to step up with in-kind contributions…can you volunteer the use of your truck, SUV, Camper, RV or Motorhome?  Can you be a driver/logistics volunteer during the Walk?  Please contact Mike Maresco <mkauai@gmail.com> if you can help.  Thanks!
