Report from Elk Mound
Yesterday saw us at perhaps the smallest town along our route, Elk Mound, WI, population 785. The town is about 3 blocks long, the extent of which reminded me of a cow town in the Old West. Spent most of the day replenishing our gasoline supply, cleaning RVs, washing clothes, promoting in town. Rode our red bicycle up to Elk Mound Park, a quaint spot of land sitting on the tallest hill for 10 or 20 miles in any direction. On top was a three-storied castle dating from the 1930s along with a flag pole, visible for miles. The view from the ramparts is magnificent. John drove me and I managed to join the last 2 miles of the walk into Elk Mound. Alyssa took off for California. We were all quite unhappy to see her leave. Her sister Sara will join us Tuesday. That is one dedicated family!
Our town meeting was held in a bank where other civic organizations such as the local Boy Scout Troop meet. Since our promotion effort was on such short notice only one couple showed up, but they were very significant to us. Ben Olson, Libertarian, is running for Congress in the Wisconsin 3rd District, a vast area stretching from both southern and northern borders along the western edge of the state. Ben arrived with his wife Holly and son Eric. All were eager to hear what we had to say, and asked many good questions. Ben and Holly will join us for the walk today from Elk Mound to Monomenie.
Over 200 miles walked, probably only another 60 miles to go. Minneapolis and a day with destiny awaits!

Sorry Allyssa left as you all seem to miss her, but the experiences and the truths you speak, will fill any voids. One couple listened, many more will hear from them. I am sorry not more came, but every single mind you touch is important. That couple will speak to many people.
I love you guys! Have a great day tomorrow..
MN awaits us all..
